Owner of j.kanna design
Jacqueline K. Kanna, owner of j.kanna design, was born and raised on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Her upbringing on Kauai’s Westside as one of seven children in the strong, Christian family of the late Dr. George Kanna and his wife Carol greatly influenced her professional principles and aesthetic.
As a child, Jackie spent many hours enjoying the outdoors. Her love for the ocean and Kauai’s land shines through in her craft.
Kauai-style loyalty, hard work, respect, kindness and humility are the values that Jackie lives by and serves her clients with each day.
A graduate of Waimea High School and the University of Hawaii’s esteemed commercial arts program, Jackie was hired by Home Vue Hawaii in 1983 as a Computer Graphic Designer and trained in Toronto, Canada. Following that, she worked for Hospitality Network in Nevada for almost 10 years where she was hired as a Computer Graphic Designer and quickly promoted to Art Director. Jackie moved back to Hawaii in 1994 and worked for Friendly Market Center on Molokai. Soon after, she began freelancing as a graphic designer specializing in logo designs for businesses and nonprofit organizations on Molokai and Kauai.
In the Kauai community, Jackie has volunteered with:
In 2002, Jackie with her siblings and mother established the George A. Kanna Scholarship Foundation that awards college scholarships to three Kauai students annually. In 2017, the fund evolved into The Dr. George and Carol Kanna Scholarship Fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation and will provide scholarships to Kauai students in perpetuity.
